Horizons Alternative Provision Academy was launched by Maiden Erlegh Trust in September 2026 to give more children and young people across Reading, Bracknell, Newbury, Wokingham and South Oxfordshire access to high-quality alternative education.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Horizons encompasses a new short-stay primary setting in Bracknell, a new Primary Special School in Reading, new vocational courses in Reading at Maiden Erlegh School, flexible learning delivered by a new team of tutors, and the established expertise and sites formerly known as Cranbury College.

At the heart of Horizons is learning worth turning up for: learning young people connect with because they can see that it is relevant to their lives, interests and future.

Delivered through five pathways, Horizons helps every child and young person make progress and achieve, whatever their age, stage, need or educational journey.
