John Rankin Schools in Newbury, West Berkshire, consists of an Infant and Nursery School (opened in 1957) and a Junior School (opened in 1955). The two locations form a hard federation that has undergone significant transitions, including an expansion to a three-form entry and preparations to join the Maiden Erlegh Trust.

The schools are situated in Newbury, historically built on the site of the Battle of Newbury. The school's namesake, John Rankin, was a local dignitary who championed turn-of-the-century education reforms in the region before becoming relatively unknown in the modern era.
